We are a collective of sound engineers, musicians and vinyl brokers with deep roots in the Toronto hip hop community and over 100 combined years of experience.

We help artists develop the work and career they want to cultivate through sound engineering, creative consultation, and helping get their vinyl produced.

Tristan Graham

 

President & Director of New Media

 

As President of Type A Records, Tristan Graham spearheads strategic initiatives, brand partnerships, and digital innovation. He shapes the label’s vision and ensures all operations stay aligned with its mission of independence and creative empowerment. As Director of New Media, Tristan directs content strategy, platform engagement, and visual storytelling to amplify the Type A identity through campaigns, video, and social channels.

 

Patrick Bardos

 

Vice-President, Director of Audio Production & Head Mix Engineer

 

Holding dual executive and technical roles, Patrick Bardos is central to Type A’s sound and operations. As Vice-President, he contributes to leadership decisions, A&R direction, and team development. In the studio, his role as Director of Audio Production and Head Mix Engineer ensures every release meets the label’s high sonic standards — through expert mixing, mastering, and creative production guidance.

 

Chrys Welch

 

Director of Promotions

 

Chrys Welch oversees all promotional efforts for Type A Records, expertly deploying release rollouts, media outreach, and branding campaigns. With a sharp eye for trends and audience behavior, Chrys bridges artists with fans via social media narratives, press coverage, and event marketing — ensuring maximum impact and visibility for every project.

 

Martin Cura

 

Director of Art

 

Martin Cura leads the visual direction for Type A, managing album art, web design, merchandise visuals, and marketing assets. With a foundation in art and design, Martin crafts cohesive branding that represents each release and captures the label’s bold, authentic identity — adding style and substance to every visual touchpoint.

 

Allan Stuart

 

1st Recording Engineer

 

Allan Stuart supports the creative heart of Type A by engineering high-quality recording sessions. He ensures technical excellence in mic placement, tracking, vocal clarity, and session flow — enabling artists and producers to capture performances at their peak, in a professional and efficient environment.

 

Dennis James

 

Director of Merchandising & 2nd Recording Engineer

 

Dennis James connects Type A’s brand to its audience through compelling merchandise design and rollout strategies. He oversees product development, inventory, and ecommerce integration. In the studio, Dennis supports recording operations, ensuring both creative output and product experiences maintain quality and brand consistency.

 

Joven Castro

 

Assistant Mix Engineer

 

Joven Castro brings technical precision and fresh ears to the label’s post-production process. As Assistant Mix Engineer, he handles session setups, reference tracking, and mix prep, ensuring each project proceeds smoothly and stays true to Type A’s sound architecture.

 

Pierre Edwards

 

Assistant Recording Engineer

 

Pierre Edwards provides technical backup in recording sessions, managing mic setups, file organization, and equipment troubleshooting. His role ensures the studio environment remains efficient and artist-friendly — enabling creative flow without distraction or downtime.

 

Dwayne Seaton

 

Studio Manager

 

As Studio Manager, Dwayne Seaton maintains full operational oversight of the Type A recording facilities. He schedules sessions, handles maintenance, coordinates logistics, and manages technical performance. His organizational precision ensures every creative session runs smoothly, securely, and on time.
